West Bengal Chief Minister Meets Singapore’s Prime Minister To Discuss Investment Opportunities

A delegation from the Government of West Bengal, India, met with the Singaporean Prime Minister Mr Lee Hsien Loong, as part of Ms Mamata Banerjee’s maiden foreign visit as Chief Minister of West Bengal. Ms Banerjee was joined by Dr Amit Mitra (West Bengal's Minister of Finance, Commerce & Industries), Sanjay Mitra (Chief Secretary, Indian Administrative Service,Govt. of West Bengal).
Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee discussed with David Cameron about the state policy and future aspect of investment in West Bengal.

Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had a meeting with British Prime Minister David Cameron at the British Deputy High Commission in Kolkata. After the meeting, the Chief Minister expressed she was deeply honoured for the visit of the British Prime Minister to Kolkata. She also expressed that there is significant scope for collaboration with the British Government in the fields of education, culture, tourism, skill development, manufacturing industries, river-front development.

Government of West Bengal organised Bengal Global Business Summit – Bengal Leads 2015 on 7th and 8th January 2015 in the unique Eco-Tourism Park at New Town in Kolkata

The identified Focus Sectors for the Summit included: Urban Infrastructure and Housing, IT Software & Hardware, Food Processing, Horticulture & Floriculture, MSME & Textiles, Health Care, Education & Skills, Manufacturing, Energy & Infrastructure, Hospitality & Tourism and Business of Entertainment, Financial Services. Investment proposals worth Rs. 2.4 lakh crores finalised during summit.
West Bengal Chief Minister Ms. Mamata Banerjee figures in the list of 50 most influential people in the world of finance as rated by Bloomberg Markets magazine in September 2012.

The list also includes names like US Federal Reserve chairman Ben S Bernanke, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, Hyundai's chairman Chung Mong Koo, American business magnate Warren Buffett, America Movil's Chairman Carlos Slim, European Central Bank's president Mario Draghi and Burmese opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi

A five-member delegation from Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) met Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at Writers Buildings on Wednesday.

FICCI president RV Kanoria said : "There has been a sea change in work culture and law and order situation in West Bengal".
